Black Chalk, Classic 2020

Black Chalk is the passion project of award winning English winemaker Jacob Leadley and his family. Wanting to show the wine world the very best of what Hampshire can offer, Black Chalk focusses on a minimal intervention, maximum expression approach to their wines. Classic 2020 is a blend of 45% Chardonnay, 32% Pinot Meunier and 23% Pinot Noir, perfectly utilising the shallow, chalky soils of southern England. A nose of green apple, ripe lemons and elderflower paves the way for a very fresh minerally palate and, now with 3 years of age in bottle, a rich brioche note on the finish. This is a stunning, elegantly understated English Sparkling Wine.
